The summer of 2026 offered four very different opportunities to experience aviation in motion: the Dayton Air Show, the Middletown Regional Air Show, the Stearman Fly-In, and a special visit by the B-29 FIFI to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. From aerobatic performers and classic biplanes to warbirds carving through the sky and one of the last flying B-29s arriving against the backdrop of the museum, each event offered its own perspective on the machines and people that shaped aviation history.
These photographs are less about documenting the aircraft than capturing the moments when sound, motion, light, and history come together—and the machines become more than museum pieces. They become aircraft again.
